Year 2 & 3 Chinese New Year

23rd January 23

students in a Chinese New Year performance

Years 2 and 3 took part in a Chinese New Year workshop to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit. Each child had a plate on which they painted their own unique Chinese New Year themed design.  They then learnt and performed a dragon dance to scare away evil spirits. In Chinese culture the dragon symbolises good luck, long life and wisdom and the children put lots of energy into their dancing. Full video is on our YouTube channel.
