Welcome to The Mall School. We are a proudly academic school with excellent 11+ results, promoting ambition, achievement and authenticity in our children through genuinely small class-sizes. Our rigorous curriculum, state-of-the-art facilities and enriching learning environment help children become confident, articulate and compassionate young citizens.
Alongside academic excellence, our outstanding co-curricular programme, in-house swim school and wide-ranging enrichment opportunities ensure pupils flourish throughout the school day, while curiosity and humour remain central to developing our children’s character, fit for a modern education.
It has been almost three years since The Mall School became co-educational, and we have made excellent progress. It is time to share it with you.
With girls in all year groups up to Year 5 this September, ahead of schedule, our curriculum has been refined to prepare for our first cohort of girls taking 11+ examinations. Our Assistant Head, Dr Newton, has visited feeder schools and girls’ senior schools to understand their standards, philosophy and approach to life in Year 7, helping us build strong and lasting relationships.
Our girls are thriving, becoming confident speakers, upstanders and ambassadors for the school. Assemblies explore important issues from both past and present, from women’s rights to AI and future careers. Boys and girls are learning how the world has evolved, how it is changing and how they can shape its future. Having a voice and making meaningful connections remain central to our approach.
But it is not just about the 11+—think ‘Dickens to Drones’.
Our co-curricular programme has been transformed, helping to reduce costs for families while expanding opportunities for boys and girls to learn together. From 3D printing, modelling and origami to dance, debate, netball and hockey, there is something for everyone—without stereotypes.
In sport, we are growing opportunities in football, rugby and cricket alongside our established programme. At The Mall School, girls do not turn one way and boys another—we play, compete and celebrate together. While we will introduce all-girls teams when numbers allow, our shared sporting ethos is already flourishing, with girls making a significant impact across school sport.
And it is not all about the girls. Our boys continue to be challenged and stretched, now with an even greater sense of perspective, friendship and understanding. One of our newest Year 4 girls is regularly seen teaching gymnastics routines to Year 6 boys in the playground.
Big or small, everyone has their moment to shine—a chance to be themselves.
