Mall Infants new playground opened in swashbuckling style!

4th October 16

Reception and Year 1 boys wowed their parents with their pirate hats and songs as they enjoyed a party to celebrate their new outdoor play area in September.

The boys filled up the Pirate Ship centrepiece of the new play area, generously funded by the Mall School Association, before performing two pirate songs to the audience of parents, staff and governors.

After their performance the boys were stunned to see a real life pirate swoop down into the play area to lead the boys in the release of helium balloons and a treasure hunt. Teachers had hidden treasure tokens for each boy throughout the play area which they then exchanged with their pirate guest for a bag of loot.

The boys who won the naming competition then proudly officially launched “The Jolly Mallian” with a giant inflatable bottle of champagne.

At the end of the party there was a cake sale in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care which raised an amazing £210!
