Our School Chicks

Over the past two weeks we have had the pleasure of welcoming 10 new guests into the Reception classroom with the arrival of our chicks. They came as eggs in an incubator last Monday and the children were able to view the hatching process, watch the chicks develop and grow in a brooder box and spend some time holding, stroking and caring for them.

They have been a fantastic addition to the classroom, inspiring creative writing, being a visual reference as we learn about the lifecycle of a chicken and stimulating the children to identify other Oviparous creatures.
