Expeditions Day – Year 5

11th October 23

Year 5 spent their Expeditions Day at Hampton Court where they followed a trail from the Great Hall to the Royal Chapel. They had a leaflet encouraging them to discover interesting features and artefacts and to think about who would have used the various rooms. Amongst other things, they sat at the head table of the Great Hall, played some Tudor games and admired the magnificent tapestries and paintings. In the base court, they were greeted by Thomas the Yeoman who took them on a tour and told them many interesting facts about life at court and its hierarchy. They also explored the Tudor kitchens, William III’s apartments and the fabulous gardens, and even managed to get out of the maze unscathed!
