Year 5 – Science

12th June 23

Year 5 are learning about light this half term, culminating in making pinhole and lens cameras. We started with shadows and eclipses where we were seeing how lenses can bend beams of light and focus them. This is how we are able to see using the lenses in our eyes and make pictures.

We are also following in Newton’s footsteps and splitting white light into a spectrum of colours. Next, we look at how mirrors reflect light, and then how the human eye works, before finishing up with making the cameras.
