Year 1

15th May 23

Year 1 have been learning to compare length, height and mass this week using comparative language taller/shorter, longer/shorter and heavier/lighter. They then used non-standard units to measure and compare the length, height and mass of objects and when they were confident at doing this they were introduced to some standard units of measurement. They had great fun estimating the length and height of things in the playground and successfully managed to measure the length of the playground in metres using a trundle wheel.
