Year 5 Science

4th May 23

Year 5 are learning about the life cycles of plants and animals, which is a good excuse to get out the microscopes and look at the parts of a flower after doing some dissecting. We also have a good collection of ready-made slides, and have looked at Robert Hooke’s Micrographia, which contains the famous drawing of a flea. Later, we shall look at pond animals, and put drops of pond water under the microscope. Keeping the water fleas and micro-organisms still is the challenge.
