We embarked on our transition to co-ed in 2023, with the first girls joining Reception class. This year, girls have enrolled in Years 3 and 4; our transformation reaches completion in 2028, when girls will be enrolled across all year groups, thereby establishing the school as a fully co-educational establishment.
Year 4 have been making fruit batteries as part of their work on electricity. The challenge is to produce the highest voltage – and then increase the voltage by using more than one item of fruit in the circuit. Lemons are used traditionally but oranges work just as well, as do limes and apples, and, of course, potatoes. Voltmeters are very useful kit here for comparing the voltages generated. You can try other fruits and juicy vegetables too. More than half a volt should be enough to work a buzzer.

Thanks to everyone for coming along to, organising, planning, donating and volunteering at our Christmas Fair on Saturday! We had a fabulous time and the children loved all the games, crafts, music and meeting Santa.
