All children sit down with their friends for a delicious meal in our restaurant at lunchtime. Main courses are followed by a choice of pudding, yogurt, ice cream or fresh fruit and children are given a glass of water with their meals.
Reception children are given their own named placemat and cutlery, but are helped to cut up anything difficult.
Our caterers, Accent, carefully plan the menus to include a wide variety of ingredients, cuisines and culinary styles; children benefit from seasonal recipes using tasty, vibrant ingredients. Read more about Accent
The kitchen is a nut-free environment. Menus are fully allergen-checked and labelled, and there is always a vegetarian option available. We celebrate monthly Special Days including Wimbledon, Chinese New Year, American, Easter and Christmas along with our annual themes. These help the children to understand where food comes from and encourages them to try new and innovative dishes such as Beetroot Brownie or Sweetcorn and Tomato Muffins.
Our Accent nutritionists plan the termly menus to incorporate foods that are in season. Menus are packed with extra goodness and celebrate nature. In April, for example, children can try a seasonal Spinach and Feta Spanakopita Filo Pie on Fridays and a Summer Berry Easton Mess for pudding on Mondays in recognition of July’s strawberry season.
Children are welcome to bring a healthy snack (no nuts) and a bottle of water (not juice) to school each day.
