Reception Visit Kew Gardens

13th March 25

Our Reception class visited Kew Gardens this week for a fantastic day of exploring the grounds and discovering how plants grow.

In small groups, the children observed plants in their environment, discussing their scent, colour and size. During the session, the children were able to understand how plants grow with support from the Kew teacher. Exploring many of Kew’s glasshouses, the class were able to identify different shapes, colours and patterns and highlight the key parts of the plants they discovered.

This was a brilliant day out, with the children showcasing their listening skills when the teacher was talking. They were fully engaged in all the activities and were able to answer many questions about plants with the knowledge they learned throughout the day.
