New Head Announcement

15th January 24

We are delighted to announce that The Mall School Governing Body has appointed Mr Sam Gosden as the next Head of The Mall School. He will take up his position in September 2024.

Sam is currently Head of Dolphin School, a co-educational school for 2-11 year old children in Clapham. Prior to that he was Head of Lower School (Pastoral) at Kensington Park School and Director of Music and Head of Digital Strategy at Newland House School in Teddington giving him a sound knowledge and appreciation of the local area and the senior schools popular with our pupils.

Both in his present role and throughout his career, Sam has a clear track record of delivering a holistic education centred on high academic standards while investing in developing an all-round person with the creative, sporting, linguistic and digital skills needed for life in the 21st century.

Sam holds a BA (Hons) in Music with Drama and Theatre Studies from the University of Surrey and completed his teacher training with the West London Partnership. Sam is an accomplished musician, a keen cyclist, enjoys kayaking, photography and is an Arsenal supporter. He has three boys Ruben (10), Ravi (7) and Remi (1). Speaking about his appointment, Sam said, “I am excited and feel incredibly privileged to join The Mall School next September as the new Headmaster. The school has long been well-regarded for its educational strength and rigour, and I will enjoy the opportunity to build on its successes in this exciting new era as a co-educational school.”

There are opportunities for parents to meet Sam informally in the coming weeks and he will be working closely with David Price and the Senior Leadership Team to ensure a smooth transition.
