The 1960s Assembly

6th February 23

Reception and Year 1 performed their 1960s assembly to members of their family today along with the rest of the school. They have worked hard over the last four weeks learning about the history of The Mall in the 1960s and other major events that happened during this decade including learning about the publication of ‘James and the Giant Peach’ by Roald Dahl, England winning the 1966 world cup, the first Pizza Express opening in Soho, Andy Warhol’s famous pop art, the 1969 moon landing and of course the music from The Beatles. We were extremely proud of them all today and loved their singing of ‘Yellow Submarine’ which the audience joined in with very well.
