Making A Difference

From an early age, all children are encouraged to think of the needs of others and to support people who are less fortunate than them. We have an active charity committee run by pupils which each term identifies charities to support  and ways in which to support them.

In recent years we have helped the charity SPEAR and the Richmond Food Bank by donating tins of food and toiletries at harvest time to help homeless people in the borough. Following our annual Christmas carol service, a collection is raised to support families in desperate need in some of the poorest countries of the world. We also respond to emergency appeals following a natural disaster.

We have strong links with Chitsime school in Malawi, through the charity African Vision. Over the last five years we have raised enough money through sponsored activities to help build school classrooms, a water pump and a new kitchen. When we changed our school logo we donated uniforms, book bags, sports bags and footballs to the school. In 2019, our first music marathon raised £5000 towards an appeal for a new minibus for the charity.
