The Mall School is small and friendly, with consistently strong academic achievements and fantastic art, music and sports facilities, which we would be delighted to show you.

The main points of entry to the school are in the Nursery (6 months+), Reception (4+) and Year 3 (7+) . Spaces do also  become available in other year groups throughout the school: get in touch to find out about availability.

Visit us

Book our next Open Morning by contacting the Admissions team or register your place. Our open events provide an opportunity for you to meet pupils and staff, tour our facilities and see the school in action.

You are also warmly welcome to have a private tour of The Mall School with the Head, which you can book by contacting his PA.

Register your child

To proceed with your application, please complete the registration form and pay the £95 registration fee to register your child for The Mall School.

Attend a Taster Day at school

Your child will be invited to attend a school Taster Day, which gives them a chance to enjoy a typical day at The Mall, meet their new classmates and teacher, participate in sports or swimming and eat a delicious school lunch in the dining room.

They will also take an informal assessment which allows us to benchmark them against the national average for a child of the same age; the results of these assessments will not dictate whether an offer is made and are just used to assess how we can support your child.

Accept the offer of a place

Once families are sent an offer, they should complete the acceptance form and pay £1,300 deposit to accept the place.

Entry to the Nursery

Applications for Nursery places can be made at any time from birth onwards and all applicants will be placed on a waiting list. Girls and boys may start in the Nursery from 6 months. Early registration is recommended.

All children in the Nursery are automatically offered an unconditional place in the Reception class at The Mall School.

Entry to Reception

Reception places are offered around 18 months before anticipated school start date, to children in our Nursery, siblings and then in order of date of registration. We do not formally assess pupils before offering them a place in Reception.

Flexible rolling admissions to other year groups

We welcome applications for year groups either at the start or mid-way through the school year.  As well as having small intakes at 7+ and 8+ into Years 3 and 4, we also occasionally offer places in other year groups. Pupils will follow the usual admissions process to join the school at different entry points – please do get in touch with the Admissions team by email or call 0208 614 1082.
